Head of Legal and Business Affairs, Jaunt, Inc.
Matt Burrows is Head of Legal and Business Affairs at Jaunt, a venture-backed startup providing technology and tools for the development and distribution of AR and VR content and applications. At Jaunt he oversees the company’s legal matters including advising its management team and business units. In addition to working in private practice, Matt previously served as Director, Legal and Business Affairs at Warner Bros., focusing on the development of UltraViolet (a digital rights locker and content distribution platform founded by a consortium of major media and technology companies), and the expansion of Rotten Tomatoes and Flixster after acquisition. Matt also served as Senior Counsel at Apple where, among other responsibilities, he was the lead attorney for the launch of movies on iTunes.
Matt is active in pro-bono matters and serves as a longtime counsel for the Human Rights Action Center, an organization focused on international human rights. He previously served as a Cooperating Attorney for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, focusing on fair use issues, and as a board member of the ACLU of Southern California where he was instrumental in establishing the ACLU’s first policy on environmental rights.
Matt graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., Rhetoric) and Loyola Law School (J.D.), and was a non-residential fellow at the Stanford Center for Internet and Society.
