Biography
Axel Halfmeier is Professor of Private Law, Comparative Law and International Private and Procedural Law at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. Previously, he had studied law at University of Hamburg (Dr. iur., 1999) and University of Michigan (LL.M., 1996), worked in private practice and taught at several other German universities. He has researched collective litigation for more than twenty years, and has frequently advised litigants, consumer associations and lawmakers in this field.
