Michael A. Smith

Mike serves as Chairman of the Board of Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:ZBRA) which specializes in Enterprise Asset Intelligence. Zebra builds tracking technology and solutions that generate actionable information and insight, providing unprecedented visibility into businesses by giving physical things a digital voice. Zebra more than tripled in size when it recently acquired Motorola’s Enterprise Solutions business consisting primarily of the former Symbol Technologies.

He is also a Director of SRAM International (a world leader in high end bike components) and of Blue Star Lubrication Technology (a new business model for industrial lubricants & greases), all based in the Chicago area. With over 30 cumulative years of public board service, he has served on audit, compensation, search and nom/gov committees and is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow.

Mike also has over 25 years of investment banking experience with an emphasis on M&A. He has participated as a panel judge for many years in the entrepreneurship programs at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (his MBA alma mater) and at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Mike currently is also active in investment management through FireVision LLC.
