Tim Hwang

Tim is part of the public policy team at Google, where he focuses on issues at the intersection of law and technology. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating the company’s global policy work surrounding artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Previously, he led Intelligence & Autonomy, a research initiative examining the societal implications of intelligent systems supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He has also held positions at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard, the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. In 2014, he was dubbed “The Busiest Person on the Internet” by Forbes Magazine and named one of their “30 Under 30” for Law and Policy.
