Chief Information Security Officer, TIAA

Stephen Ward is the Chief Information Security Officer at TIAA, a Fortune 80 financial institution, where he provides progressive direction over cybersecurity and technology risk. He is also a Board Member of Mimecast, a publicly traded security company and advises cybersecurity startup CEOs on the best approach to bringing groundbreaking security technologies to the market. His innovative approach has led to malware related patent-pending technology and has received award recognition from his industry peers in the cybersecurity arena.

Stephen believes that technology is truly changing the world with astonishing benefits, but will never take the place of compassion, empathy and understanding of others differences.

Stephen has over 20 years of experience in both physical security, cybersecurity and technology risk acquired throughout his career in both the private sector (U.S. Secret Service) and public sector (JPMorgan Chase).

Stephen is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and graduated from Seton Hall University. He is a passionate autism advocate inspired by his amazing son and the need for all special needs children to live amazing lives.
