Helen Christakos is a counsel in the Technology & Privacy Group. Helen devotes a significant portion of her practice to helping clients in a wide variety of industries navigate the complex and ever-changing privacy, Internet, and cybersecurity laws governing the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information. She leverages her insider’s perspective on enforcement culture and real-world understanding of industry practices to help companies assess their legal obligations and risks and helps design and implement practical, cost-effective plans for mitigating these risks. She was named one of California’s “Top Cyber Lawyers 2019” by the Daily Journal.

Helen also represents clients in commercial transactions involving cutting-edge intellectual property and technology issues. She brings a practical, business-oriented approach to advising companies ranging from global public companies to emerging startup ventures in developing, licensing, selling, acquiring, protecting, and commercially exploiting intellectual property and technology assets.

In addition to her law practice, Helen is an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University School of Law. Helen developed the curriculum for and teaches the school’s inaugural cybersecurity law class and also teaches classes in technology and intellectual property licensing.

Helen speaks advanced German and intermediate French and Greek.
