James White

Board Chairman, Adtalem Global Education

James D. White is the Chairman at Adtalem Global Education, and Board Director at Panera Bread and Schnucks Supermarkets. James has over 15 years of corporate Board experience and has been appointed to 10 Boards, Board Chairman on 4, and has served on every committee.

In addition to his board experience, James has over 20 years of experience as an operating executive at Fortune 500 companies. He is the former Chairman, President and CEO of Jamba Juice, a global, healthy active lifestyle brand. Prior to his role at Jamba Juice, James also held senior executive positions at Safeway Stores, Inc., the Gillette Company, and Nestlé-Purina PetCare.

James has been recognized with numerous awards, including those from the American Heart Association Corporate Citizen Award, Junior Achievement, the Northern California Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2010 the San Francisco Business Times named Mr. White as the Bay Area’s Most Admired CEO. In 2017 he was honored as Doctor of Humane Letters, by Fontbonne University, and was a 2018 Distinguished Careers Institute Fellow at Stanford University. He is a passionate champion for diversity and inclusion.
