Lydia I. Beebe

Principal, LIBB Advisors; Chair, EQT; Director, Aemetis and Kansas City Southern

Lydia Beebe is Principal of LIBB Advisors LLC, a governance consulting firm, where she focuses on assisting boards of directors perform at their best. Services include corporate governance best practices, board of directors evaluations, and stockholder relations. In addition, she is co-director of the Stanford Institutional Investors’ Forum. Lydia also serves on two public company boards of directors, Kansas City Southern and Aemetis Inc. She has more than 35 years of significant experience as an attorney and legal counsel provider.

Prior to founding LIBB Advisors, Lydia was Senior of Counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for two years, following two decades as corporate secretary and chief governance officer at Chevron, and the first woman officer at the company. For the 20 years in which she held that role, she advised the board of directors and senior management on corporate governance matters and managed Chevron’s corporate governance function. In addition, Lydia directed stockholder services for Chevron and its subsidiaries, as well as served as secretary to Chevron’s board, its executive committee, and its board nominating and governance committee.

Previously, Lydia was a senior manager and attorney in Chevron’s tax department and a legislative representative for the company in Washington, D.C. She began her legal career at Chevron as a contracts attorney in 1977.

Lydia has taken on multiple leadership roles in the community, serving on various boards of directors. She currently serves as an advisory board member of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware, as well as on the governing boards of the Kansas University Endowment Association, Kansas University Law Alumni, and the San Francisco Symphony.

 

Lydia has also served on the board of directors of the National Judicial College, to which she was appointed by the American Bar Association; the Presidio Trust, to which she was appointed by President George W. Bush; and the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission, to which she was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson and for which she was recognized as a Civil Rights Hero by the state of California.
