Biography
Janet S. Wong is an Independent Board Director and business advisor with unique experience working in the high technology, manufacturing, consumer products and the services industries. Her qualifications include recognition as an experienced Financial Expert as defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, and Nasdaq. Her board experience includes both U.S. publicly listed companies and private companies. She is NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors)Directorship Certified® demonstrating her qualifications and commitment as an experienced board director.
She is a partner (retired) with KPMG, one of the largest global professional services firms, where she spent the majority of her career based in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices providing her with experience working and advising Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups that grew to successful publicly listed companies. She has global corporate experience in Asia, Europe and North America. Her expertise includes financial accounting, internal controls, risk management, cybersecurity and AI oversight, M&A and strategic planning.
In June 2024, Directors & Boards named her to its Public Company Women Directors to Watch. In May 2023, BoardProspects named her to its list of the Top 30 Asian American Board Directors in the U.S. In April 2022, NACD named her to its 2022 Directorship 100™, an annual honor for leading directors and governance professionals.
Janet is a frequent speaker on board topics including governance, Audit Committees, risk management, cybersecurity and AI oversight. She has been a strong supporter of leadership development throughout her career and now as a board director speaking on leadership and board readiness programs.
Janet is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a NACD Certified Director. In addition, she is a member of WomenCorporateDirectors, Extraordinary Women on Boards, National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Silicon Valley Directors Exchange. In April 2025, the Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, invited her to its membership.
She is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Master of Professional Accountancy and Golden Gate University with a Master of Taxation. She completed Executive Education programs on corporate board governance at Harvard Business School and Stanford Law School. She holds a Certificate in Cyber-Risk Oversight from Carnegie Mellon University and NACD.
