Biography
Janet S. Wong is an Independent Board Director and business advisor with unique experience from working in the high technology, manufacturing, consumer products and the financial services industries. She is a licensed CPA in California and Texas. Her qualifications include recognition as an experienced Financial Expert as defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, and Nasdaq. She is a NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Certified Director® demonstrating her qualifications and commitment as an experienced board director.
She serves on the public company boards of Lucid Group (Nasdaq: LCID), a sustainable mobility company producing luxury electric vehicles and electric powertrain systems; TWFG (Nasdaq: TWFG), a national independent distribution platform for personal and commercial insurance; and Valvoline (NYSE: VVV), a company that delivers quick, easy, trusted service for vehicles.
She is a partner (retired) with KPMG, one of the largest global professional services firms, where she spent most of her career based in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices working with and advising Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups that grew to successful publicly listed companies. She has global corporate experience in Asia, Europe and North America. Her expertise includes financial accounting, internal controls, M&A, risk management and strategic planning.
In June 2024, Directors & Boards named her to its list of Public Company Women Directors to Watch for her governance and leadership experience. In May 2023, BoardProspects named her to its list of the Top 30 Asian American Board Directors in the U.S. In April 2022, NACD named her to its 2022 Directorship 100â„¢, an annual honor for leading directors and governance professionals.
Janet is a frequent speaker on board topics including board governance, Audit Committees, leadership and succession planning, risk management including oversight of AI and cybersecurity governance.
She is a founding member of the WSJ (Wall Street Journal) Board of Directors Council and a founding member of the Alpha Council, a leadership organization focused on AI governance in the corporate boardroom.
