Board and CEO Whisperer. The quintessential “Board and CEO Whisperer,” one of Loretta’s most recent Chief Executive Officers describes her as “a savvy business executive who happened to go to law school.” Loretta’s General Counsel career has been distinguished by leading several “bet the company” litigation matters requiring judgment, discretion, while balancing risk/ reward considerations.
Board Member. In January 2024, Loretta began her own Board career, joining the Board of Directors of Envision Healthcare where she is a member of three Committees: Compensation, Compliance & Quality, and M&A/Transactions. With $4B in annual revenues, Envision Healthcare provides emergency room and anesthesiology departments with professional staff and support, employing 8500 state-of-the art trained emergency room and anesthesiology physicians.
The Present. More recently, in June 2024, Loretta joined Allied Universal, the world’s largest private security services and technology company, as its Global General Counsel. With over $24B in annual revenues and operating in more than 100 countries with over 800,000 employees worldwide, Allied Universal provides security services and related technology to the largest companies and various governments across the globe. Loretta leads a team of over 180 legal professionals and is a key member of Allied Universal’s team preparing for an initial public offering.
The Past. Before joining Allied Universal, Loretta was EVP & General Counsel for Change Healthcare Inc., a $3.3B U.S. NASQAQ listed healthcare joint venture between McKesson Corporation and The Blackstone Group Inc. After helping lead the company’s initial public offering in 2019, Loretta then led the company’s efforts to merge with UnitedHealth Group in 2022, after defeating the U.S. Department of Justice’s eighteen months’ efforts to stop the merger in federal court.
Loretta also held senior roles at AT&T Corp. (17 years), McKesson (11 years), and NCR Corporation (3 years) where she worked on game changing technology transformations, including wireless communications/adoption of the internet, electronic medical records, banking and retail self-service, and airline self-check in/check out.
Awards. In 2020-2021, Loretta and her team were named Corporate Secretary’s Best Compliance & Ethics Program, Corporate Counsel’s Compliance Department of the Year, a Values Champion by the Association of Corporate Counsel, a two-time finalist for the prestigious Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards, and over a three year period, also won thirteen other awards for excellence in support of complex technology transformation initiatives and growth. In 2021, Loretta also was named Corporate Counsel’s Women, Power, and Influence Lifetime Award Winner.
Personal. Loretta balances her corporate work as a competitive ballroom dancer and regularly competes in both national and international competitions.
