Biography
Victor J. Miller serves as the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at Honeywell International Inc. In this capacity, he oversees the legal operations of Honeywell’s Corporate Compliance Center of Excellence, managing areas such as anti-corruption, investigations, ethics, government contracts compliance, import and export functions, along with compliance operations, including the Compliance data analytics team.
While acting as Honeywell’s Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Miller successfully negotiated the settlement of Honeywell’s FCPA claims with the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission in 2002, concerning Operation Car Wash, Petrobras, and a separate Unaoil issue. This matter was concluded with a Deferred Prosecution Agreement in 2002, avoiding the need for a monitor and acknowledging significant improvements to Honeywell’s compliance program over recent years.
Before his current position, he was Honeywell’s Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for Mergers & Acquisitions, as well as the Vice President & General Counsel of Honeywell’s Aerospace Strategic Business Unit.
Earlier, Mr. Miller spent over ten years as the Vice President & General Counsel for Honeywell’s Defense and Space sector and Mergers & Acquisitions at Honeywell Aerospace.
Prior to joining Honeywell in 2002, he was a partner at Howrey Simon Arnold and White in Washington D.C., where he specialized in antitrust and commercial litigation. Mr. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and a J.D. from the Marshall–Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.
