Linda Alinda-Ikanza

Head of Trial Advocacy Skills and Moots, Law Development Centre

Linda is a nationally recognised innovator and award winning lawyer from Uganda.

She is passionate about practicing, teaching and innovating the Law. Since 2011, she has worked tirelessly to transform the teaching of Trial Advocacy for both advocates and students in Uganda. She is currently the Head of Trial Advocacy Skills and Moots at the Law Development Centre, the sole Government Law School that trains lawyers to practise law in Uganda.

As an innovator, Linda is the founder of Nkola App, a text based messaging application that provides the informal sector in Uganda with neutral tools to prevent and resolve disputes in the workplace. Nkola App was selected as one of the Best Global Innovations of 2019 by the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law.

Linda practices mainly litigation and advisory law in corporate and commercial areas with Kenneth Akampurira & Company Advocates, a leading law firm in Uganda and is currently the Best Female Lawyer in Private Practise 2018/2019; an award by the Uganda Law Society.

She earned her Law Degree from Makerere University in 2007 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma from the Law Development Center in 2008. She also has a Diploma in Trial Advocacy Instruction from the University Of Washington School Of Law.

Linda is mother to four daughters whom she raises with her husband Paul. When she is not working Linda loves music, literature and poetry.
