Marek Sergot is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London. He graduated in Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge and then worked in mathematical modelling in the engineering industry before joining the Logic Prrogramming Group at Imperial College in 1979. His research is in the computer representation of laws and regulations, the formalization of normative and institutional concepts, the logics of action and agency, and topics at the interface of computational and philosophical logic.
