What to Pack


Business casual is appropriate dress for the meeting. The expected weather forecast is 68° F in the afternoon and 45°F in the evenings.

 

Workshop Locations


The workshop will be held at the Y2E2 Building, Red Atrium, 473 Via Ortega, Stanford CA 94305.

Parking Structure 2, 285 Panama Street, Stanford

Parking has been reserved for workshop participants in Parking Structure 2, first level, right across from the Y2E2 Building. Look for the reserved parking signs for the Groundwater Dispute Resolution Workshop. Stanford participants – please use your “A” or “C” parking permit.

 

Meals and Receptions


Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days of the workshop.

Reception & Dinner, 5:30pm, November 5

There will be a reception and dinner following the program on Wednesday, November 5 at the Law School. The shuttle service will be provided to take guests back to the Sheraton Hotel after the dinner.  Directions for parking near the Law School can be found at: https://www.law.stanford.edu/contact/driving-directions

Check in is at 3:00 pm and check out is at noon.

The Sheraton Palo Alto is located less than 1 mile away from campus and one block away from Cal Train. The Stanford Shopping Center and Trader Joe’s is walking distance from the hotel.

Complimentary shuttle service will be provided from the hotel to the meeting site on both days. Please meet the shuttle at the front of the hotel by 8:00am for pick on each day.

 

Travel to the Workshop


From SFO or SJC Airports

We have an account with Super Shuttle. Please complete reservation either onlinehttp://www.supershuttle.com/ or by phone (800-258-3826).

  • We can pay for “Shared Van Service” only
  • On the online form “Payment” page choose the “Direct Bill/Corporate Account” under the pull down menu on “Payment Method” or give the operator the same information.
  • An 18% tip will automatically be added to the cost of the trip so please put “0” under the “Gratuity to Add” section or mention this to the operator
  • The Account number is 091Sta42286. There is no password.

Note: If you will leave for the airport directly from the meeting on Thursday afternoon, please use this address for Super Shuttle pickup: 473 Via Ortega, Stanford, CA 94305.

Taxi service can be very expensive, over $100 one-way depending on time of day and traffic, so we appreciate your utilizing the shuttle service. We are unable to reimburse for a rental car.

Public Transportation

Caltrain http://www.caltrain.com/ is the most direct form of public transportation to Stanford University. Caltrain provides service from San Francisco and San Jose to Palo Alto, but it does not stop at either airport. Transportation from the airports to the Caltrain station is available. Please check the airport or Caltrain websites for more information.

Stanford provides a complimentary shuttle service (“Marguerite”) from the Palo Alto Caltrain station to all points on campus.

Stanford Wireless Internet


With the Stanford Visitor network, you can use the University’s wireless network to access the Internet while on-campus. The visitor network offers limited bandwidth and sessions are limited to 12 hours. Services are limited to email, web browsing, VPN and SSH.

How To Get Online:

  1. Select the SSID Stanford Visitor from your device’s list of available wireless networks.
  2. Open a browser and load any URL; you will be redirected to an access page (on a mobile phone, the access page should open automatically)
  3. Click Accept to acknowledge the terms of use. Your browser will be sent to a confirmation page and from there you can get online.
