Yumi Hosaka Clark

Yumi is currently Vice President of New Product Development at Capital One, where she manages end-to-end execution of the small business banking online product portfolio, including the online portal, mobile, online store, and payments partnerships. Prior to joining Capital One, Yumi was Director of Product Management (Payments and Commerce Solutions) at Intuit, where she managed the payments product management team that supported over 400,000 SMBs. 

Throughout her career in product management, Yumi has honed her specialty in creating new businesses and scaling ideas for large corporations. Using lean start-up approaches, Yumi has evangelized test-and-learn and fail fast methodologies to build successful technology ventures for Silicon Valley corporations including Adobe, Intuit, eBay and PayPal. Yumi also likes to help startups by leveraging her experience to identify additional growth accelerators whether it be product enhancements, marketing optimization, or partnerships/team structures. With her years of experience in software and online product development, she also helps teams stay clear of potential problem areas.

In addition to her professional achievements, Yumi has a passion for education and sits on the board of the San Francisco Children’s Creativity Museum, InPlay, an afterschool and summer activities site for low-income children, as well as, mentoring early stage start-ups with 500 Start-ups. 

Yumi received her bachelors from the University of California, Berkeley and studied law and political science at Kyushu University in Japan.
