Biography
Christian McMillen is professor of history at the University of Virginia. He is the author of three books: Making Indian Law: The Hualapai Case and the Birth of Ethnohistory (2007), Discovering Tuberculosis: A Global History (2015), and Pandemics: A Very Short Introduction (2016, updated 2024). He is currently working on a book on fee patenting and privatization of allotted land. He is also at work on a digital companion project that is both a database and a map of all allotments.
