RJA Claims in Juvenile Court: Practical Considerations for Litigation

Please join us for a presentation on examples of RJA violations, and how to identify and develop prospective and retrospective claims based on explicit and implicit bias, as well as systemic racial disparities in juvenile court, under Penal Code Sections 745 and 1473.  The presentation will also include practical ways to work with experts on data-based claims to obtain material records and overcome the various burdens of proof.  Finally, the presentation will include a tutorial for developing evidence in support of systemic disparities via the Haywood Burns Institute website.
