Erin Brown

Biography

Erin Brown, LCSW is a forensic social worker in private practice. She has been serving individuals and families in California since 2004, mostly on defense teams and at community-based organizations. Her expertise includes writing social history reports, providing rehabilitative disposition/sentencing recommendations, transitional planning for incarcerated individuals, evidence-based counseling, workshop facilitation and program management. Erin is fluent in Spanish and has worked closely with system-involved undocumented families. She has testified 56 times, worked on 66 transfer cases, 30 707/fitness cases, 50 Franklin cases and hundreds of other juvenile and adult matters in 17 counties in California. She has also volunteered in programs with lifers at San Quentin State Prison.

Erin’s education includes BAs in Sociology, Spanish and Portuguese from UC Berkeley and an MSW from CSU, East Bay. Erin was born and raised in New Orleans and comes from a family of social workers that runs three generations deep. She is honored to participate in this work and grateful to do what she loves.
