Erin Palacios

Biography

Erin Palacios is the executive director of Prisma Legal Center for Youth Justice, a non-traditional law firm that uses lawyering and legal expertise as tools for the transference of power to movement leaders, youth, and their families. She spent many years representing young people and youth leaders across a wide range of legal areas and discovered a passion for connecting different laws and processes to create less expected and unexpected strategies. Erin currently works to support and build power for directly-impacted people advocating to create and re-imagine systems that will primarily value children, families, and the communities to which they belong. Prior to takin on her current role, Erin engaged in systemic reform efforts as an attorney with the Youth Law Center, worked to provide comprehensive civil legal services to vulnerable and disconnected youth to address barriers to long-term success at Bay Area Legal Aid’s Youth Justice Project, and represented children ages 0-21 in child welfare, status offender, and delinquency proceedings at The Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice in Brooklyn, NY.
