Biography
Jeffrey E. Stone is a Senior Partner at the international law firm McDermott Will & Emery, where he previously served as Chairman of the firm. He specializes in trial work, specifically white-collar criminal defense and the trial of complex civil disputes. Prior to joining McDermott, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago. Jeffrey graduated as an undergraduate from Stanford in 1978 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1983. A long-time volunteer for Stanford, he has served or currently serves as a University Trustee, chair of the Stanford Fund, a member of the Bing Overseas Studies Advisory Council, a founder and co-chair of the Stanford LEAD program, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. He recently served on the University’s Committee on Antisemitism and Anti-Israelis Bias. He currently serves as an Executive Council member for the American Jewish Committee, as a member of the Board of Regents for the American College of Trial Lawyers, and as board member (and former chair) for ALAS, the largest attorney-owned insurance liability company in the world. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at Stanford Law School, Northwestern Law School and at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
