If you are driving to Stanford’s campus, we suggest parking in the underground Wilbur Field Garage (560 Wilbur Way, Stanford, CA 94305), or in Tresidder Parking Lot (436 Mayfield Ave, Stanford, CA 94305). Parking in both lots is free on weekends. There is a limited amount of disabled parking on Galvez Mall between CERAS and Stern Hall. Additional disabled parking is located in Parking Structure 6 (Campus Drive & Arguello Mall) and on Lane A between Columbae and the Neukom Building.
Walking directions to the law school from Wilbur Field Garage:
1. At the opposite end of the garage from the entrance ramp, there are stairs and an elevator to ground level. When you are at ground level, a large grassy field should be behind you, and the large Munger housing building (566 Arguello Way) will be in front of you.
2. Keeping the Munger Housing to your left, walk along Bowdoin for one block, on the sidewalk next Munger.
3. When this sidewalk ends at the corner of Galvez Mall, the Law School will be directly ahead of you.
4. Cross Galvez and follow the sidewalk to the right side of the Law School building, until you see an iron statue ahead of you. To your right is the Law School’s classroom building; walk to it, then turn left and walk straight until you reach our registration tables in Crocker Courtyard.
Walking directions to the law school from Tresidder Parking Lot:
1. From the parking lot, facing away from Mayfield Ave, walk straight until you are past the first big building on your right, Dinkelspield Auditorium. You should see a small outdoor stage, picnic tables, and a plaza to your right.
2. Turn right, and walk through the plaza until you see the post office. Keep walking straight (along the right side of the post office) until you cross a street, O’Connor Lane.
3. On your left is the Law School classroom building. Keep walking until you reach Crocker Courtyard; our registration tables will be on your left at the entrance to the classroom building.
If you are taking the train to Stanford Law School, get off at the Palo Alto Caltrain Station.
Transit directions to the law school from Palo Alto Caltrain Station:
1. You can take either the 281 local bus or Stanford’s free Marguerite shuttle, the SE. Be aware that service is limited on weekends.
2. For the SE, take the shuttle to the Tresidder Union stop, then follow walking directions from Tresidder Parking Lot to the Law School (see above).
3. For the 281, take the bus to the Stanford Oval. Walk straight from the bus stop and slightly left until you are walking on Lasuen Mall, to the left of the main quad buildings.
4. Follow Lasuen Mall straight past the quad, past the bookstore and White Plaza (with the Claw, a large fountain, to your right), until you reach the post office.
5. Turn left after the post office. Keep walking straight (along the right side of the post office) until you cross a street, O’Connor Lane.
3. On your left is the Law School classroom building. Keep walking until you reach Crocker Courtyard; our registration tables will be on your left at the entrance to the classroom building.
Accessibility
Accessible Entrances
There are many accessible entrances to the Law School, visible on the map provided here. When in the Arthur Cooley Courtyard (north side of the building), facing the entrance to the Law School Quadrangle, the Robert Crown Law Library and faculty, staff, and student offices are located to the left and the classrooms are located to the right. Both entrances are equipped with power-operated doors. Once inside the entrance to the left, the Library is directly ahead and the entrance is equipped with a power-operated door. Inside the library, past the front desk, and to the right, elevators provide access to all floors of the library (3, 2, G, B). The 2nd floor of the library has access to the rest of the building. The basement floor also has access to both sides of the building. There are two additional elevators outside of the library on this side of the building; one is located directly to the left once inside the entrance and another is located to the right, down the hall and turning right (on the right side). There is also an accessible entrance to the Law School café from the courtyard area. Additional accessible entrances, equipped with power-operated doors, are located on the side of the Law School (facing CERAS) and at the rear (facing Munger). On the west side of the building, an elevator provides access to all levels. Accessible entrances are also located in the south courtyard and in the arcade leading to the classrooms.
Restrooms
Wheelchair accessible men’s and women’s restrooms are located on the 1st floor. The men’s restroom is located to the left and the women’s restroom is to the right. There are no wheelchair accessible restrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. However, inside the library, there is a men’s and women’s wheelchair accessible restroom on the 2nd floor. At the basement level, there are also wheelchair accessible men’s and women’s restrooms. On the classroom side of the building, women’s wheelchair accessible restrooms are located on the 2nd and basement levels and wheelchair accessible men’s restrooms are located on the 1st and basement levels.
Health and Safety
All of our panels will be held indoors in Stanford Law School classrooms. A Corsi-Rosenthal air filter will be running in the room at all times, and KN95 respirators will be available at the registration tables all day for attendees who wish to protect themselves and others from sickness. The “Chronic Crisis: Environmental and Disability Justice” panel will be held in a second room to ensure maximum air quality for attendees and panelists. Masks will be at minimum strongly encouraged, and may be required, for this panel.
Registration, breakfast, and lunch will be held outdoors, in Crocker Courtyard. There are widely dispersed tables; there are also places to sit on the other side of the law school, in Cooley Courtyard, as well as in the courtyard just past the law school near the Market at Munger and Munger Building 5. Our reception and mixer at the end of the day will be held in an indoor/outdoor setting, with food and drinks available in the Russo Commons, which opens out to Crocker Courtyard.
