FAQs

Will the 50th Reunion be held in-person on campus?

Yes, it will be held in-person at Stanford.

When can I register for the reunion?

Registration is now open! To register for SLS-Sponsored on-campus programming for your 50th Reunion Weekend, please visit this page.

May I bring a guest to the 50th Reunion?

Yes, you may bring one guest provided your guest complies with all of the University’s COVID protocols for event attendees. Read on for more information.

Can I or my guest show up and register on site for the 50th Reunion?

No. Registration must take place in advance since all attendees (alumni and guests) attest to their vaccination status during registration.

Will attendees be required to wear masks?

Yes, everyone is required to wear masks when indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces.

While vaccination is the most effective step we can take to minimize the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant, masking provides an extra level of protection and helps keep our community safe. In compliance with Santa Clara and San Mateo counties face covering guidance announced August 2, all faculty, staff, students, contractors, and visitors must continue to wear face coverings in the following settings, regardless of vaccination status:

  • When indoors
  • When on public transportation, including Marguerite and Stanford shuttles
  • When in healthcare facilities
  • In the case of an outbreak

Exceptions in which face coverings are not required to be worn include the following:

  • When outdoors
  • When alone in a room/private office or university vehicle/cart
  • When actively eating/drinking
  • For children two years old or younger
  • When wearing a face covering would cause an unsafe condition*
  • If there is a medical or mental health exception. Anyone advised by a medical professional not to wear a face covering and/or those having a need for a clear face mask must contact and register with the Diversity and Access Office. Please email disability.access@stanford.edu or call (650) 725-0326.

Will attendees be required to be fully vaccinated?

All reunion attendees (including 12+), students, faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars coming to campus this fall will be required to be fully vaccinated* for COVID-19.

Children between the ages of 2-12 can attend if they show proof of a negative test taken with 72 hours of arriving on campus. Children under the age of 2 do not require vaccination or proof of a negative test. Keep in mind there is a one-guest policy per alum for this year.

This requirement is based on Stanford’s COVID-19 Vaccine Governance Committee’s review of conditions and developments around vaccination against the virus.

* If seeking an exemption for religious or medical reasons, please contact disability.access@stanford.edu. If granted an exemption, you will still be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test results taken within 72 hours of your arrival on campus. You will also be required to follow the current mask mandates as specified by Santa Clara County.

How will Stanford confirm vaccination status and enforce rules?

Vaccination will be confirmed several times leading up to and during the event.

  1. During Registration, attendees will be required to self attest they have been or will be fully vaccinated by October 21, 2021, the first day of reunion events.
  2. When arriving on campus, all reunion attendees will be asked to provide proof of vaccination.
You must bring a photo ID plus one of the following to show proof of vaccination:
    – Vaccine card or a photo of your vaccine card
    – Digital COVID-19 vaccine record using the My Vaccine Record app.

    Vaccination documentation should clearly indicate:
    – Full Name
    – Birthdate
    – Vaccine name/manufacturer
    – Date of vaccination(s)
Doctor’s signature, stamp, official letterhead (if applicable)

  3. Reunion attendees are required to complete a daily COVID-19 Health Attestation

Attendees unwilling to comply with Reunion safety protocols will be asked to leave campus immediately.

Will international or out-of-state alumni be allowed to attend?

Alumni and guests wishing to attend reunions will need to provide proof of full vaccination. Currently, there are no out-of-state or international restrictions. Please check this webpage for updates on possible travel restrictions in the future.
