Biography
IV Ashton is President and Founder of LegalServer, a case management platform serving hundreds of thousands of legal professionals nationwide at legal aid and public defense organizations. With a career spanning from human rights work in the Balkans to co-founding Illinois Legal Aid Online, IV has dedicated his practice to bridging technology and justice for vulnerable populations. Currently, he is developing frameworks to help legal aid agencies strategically deploy generative AI across their workflows—from automated document analysis and structured data extraction to defense strategy development—while ensuring these powerful tools serve rather than replace the human advocates working to expand access to justice.
