Welcome Lunch & Kick-off Remarks
The Summit officially kicks off with introductions and our plan of action. Over lunch, we will go over our agenda, themes, and working plan. How can we build a stronger AI research & development ecosystem, to close the justice gap?
AI in Legal Help case studies
Hear from legal aid, court, and pro bono teams that are piloting AI-powered solutions. We’ll learn about their technology, development journey, user training, policy, evaluation, and more. Which of these solutions might be adapted or scaled?
Practical Strategies for AI & Access to Justice
We will hear a series of specific, actionable recommendations about how to develop successful AI for legal help. Speakers will highlight the specific takeaways legal leaders need to know to design, develop, and scale great AI solutions, along with practical examples that make it clear and useful.
What Could a National AI+A2J Ecosystem Be?
We will discuss how organizations and regions might collaborate on building the AI, infrastructure, evaluation, and more — that might allow groups to share resources and costs in a better way.
Our Working Sessions’ Plans of Action
Before we divide into working groups, the plenary group will go over the structure and goals.
Working Group Round 1
Each working group will digest what they have learned so far, what workflows or services they would highlight for AI transformation, and how it might be possible to collaborate across orgs and jurisdictions.
Lunch and Spark Talks
Working groups rejoin the plenary to hear brief talks about AI R&D, case studies, scaling, and more.
Working Group Round 2
Each working group will synthesize what they have brainstormed so far, and they will decide on their group’s next steps and recommendations.
Plenary Conversation: Vision and Next Steps
The plenary will convene to share the working group proposals and discuss what a near-term and long-term next steps might be. Participants can share their takeaways and open questions, and lay out their plans for AI and closing the justice gap.
