Curtis Scott is Associate General Counsel, Global Regulatory and Insurance for Uber Technologies Inc. He is responsible for Uber’s overall regulatory strategy and the insurance legal function globally.
Prior to Uber, Curtis was head of government affairs and product counsel for The Climate Corporation, a San Francisco parametric weather and crop insurance startup that was acquired by Monsanto in 2013 for over $1B. He also previously worked for Allstate Insurance Company where he advanced through a variety of legal, finance and product development roles within the Allstate group of companies (Allstate, Esurance and Encompass). At Allstate, he was part of the acquisition team of Esurance, and was an early leader of the product group that expanded Esurance’s mono-line auto business into the consumer homeowners, renters, motorcycle and boating marketplace.
Curtis holds a JD from the John Marshall Law School, a MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a BA from West Virginia University. He frequently lectures on insurance and contract law and has served on the faculties of both Loyola University of Chicago and San Francisco State University.
