Viola Bensinger

Dr. Viola Bensinger is a partner at the global law firm Greenberg Traurig, and chairs the Technology Practice in Germany. She advises international internet, technology, fintech and healthcare companies in the areas of e-commerce, digital products, electronic payment, data protection, software licensing, (IT-) outsourcing, cyber security as well as digital media. Viola also advises clients on regulatory issues, especially with regard to EU law, banking regulation, broadcasting law and data protection law. Viola also heads the litigation team at Greenberg Traurig in Germany, and focusses on litigation for technology and media clients and/or on issues of technology or intellectual property laws.

For many years, Viola has also gained extensive experience in the areas of insolvency and restructuring for media and technology companies and has advised numerous clients in large-scale insolvency proceedings relating to their German business partners.

Viola is co‐editor, together with Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren, of the textbook “Liability on the Internet” (de Gruyter 2014). She publishes regularly in legal and general periodicals and is a sought‐after speaker at conferences on technology subjects.

Viola is dually qualified as Rechtsanwältin in Germany and as Solicitor in England & Wales.
