Ray Sardo helps innovative companies navigate grey areas of law, such as how a new product fits (or does not fit) within an ambiguous or dated regulatory scheme, or how to position the product amidst different or contradictory foreign laws. His areas of expertise include privacy (both U.S. and international privacy laws, such as GDPR), data security, and product counseling.
Currently, Ray is privacy and compliance counsel at Credit Karma, where he focuses on privacy and data security. Before that, Ray lead the privacy function at Pandora Media, Inc. As Pandora’s first dedicated privacy attorney, Ray was able to develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program for the company and its affiliates.
Ray has also worked at Cooley LLP and Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he gave advice to Internet and mobile companies and defended them in class action lawsuits involving privacy, user-generated content, and other consumer-facing issues.
Ray feels fortunate to work in an area of the law that is both rapidly evolving and pivotal to technological advancement.
