Karen M. Kramer brings more than 20 years of experience practicing law in the intersection of media and technology. Her career has focused on the needs of startups and established businesses that provide information, entertainment, advertising, news, video, and other content.
Currently she serves as General Counsel of Quora. Prior to that she held in-house counsel roles at The Washington Post and TiVo Inc. Additionally, Karen has worked in private practice at a top 100 firm, serving as co-chair of the intellectual property group and a member of the firm’s premiere, First Amendment team. Previously, she also co-founded and served as Managing Partner of the Silicon Valley office for Zing Legal, a boutique firm focused on serving emerging technology companies and media companies of all sizes.
Karen graduated from Stanford Law School and Stanford University undergraduate, in each case with distinction. Karen is a frequent speaker and published author on media, copyright, trademark, Internet, and entertainment law
