Bill Cosden

Executive Consultant, B. Riley Advisory Services (formerly GlassRatner); Co-Founder of the Stanford Digital Economy Best Practices Conference

Bill is an Executive Consultant with B. Riley Advisory Services, a B. Riley Financial Company.  He has broad legal experience across a number of industries, including Financial Services, Technology, Communications and Energy. And has served as the General Counsel to EM Capital Management, LLC and Silver Oak Partners, LLC.  Prior to those positions, he was the Director of Legal Affairs at Beyond.com, and Corporate Counsel for the Pacific, Gas & Electric Co.(“PG&E”).

Before entering the private sector, Bill was a Sr. Deputy District Attorney with the Alameda County (CA) District Attorney’s Office, where his responsibilities included civil and criminal white-collar crime, environmental enforcement, and prosecution of unlawful business practices under B&P Code Section 17200.

Bill is a past President of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (“ACC”) San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, and a past Chair of ACC’s National Environmental Law Committee. Additionally, he is a co-founder of the Stanford Ecommerce Best Practices Conference (now called the Stanford Digital Economy Best Practices Conference, and in its 17th year).

He received a J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
