Lisa Glover-Gardin
Senior Director, Global Head of Privacy Legal, PayPal
Having recently joined PayPal Inc. (San Jose), Lisa Glover-Gardin heads the Global Privacy Legal team. As privacy lead Ms. Glover-Gardin’s approach to privacy is ever practical, marrying privacy-first principles and innovation to meet business objectives and user expectations. Prior to joining PayPal, Ms. Glover-Gardin was Managing Senior Counsel at Google LLC (Mountain View) for nearly 8 years where she built the Third Party Data Protection Compliance program and managed a portfolio that included consent decrees with federal regulators.
Ms. Glover-Gardin has a strong interest in international practices and comparative notions of privacy based on cultural and geopolitical norms. Ms. Glover-Gardin has lived in Denmark, the US Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and Spain and is licensed in California, England and Wales.
Ms. Glover-Gardin’s experience spans litigation, privacy, compliance, and employment law. Before turning to Privacy full-time, Ms. Glover-Gardin led Quantum Corp’s global employment law and compliance team, where as Legal Director she stood up Quantum’s award winning (Ethisphere) Privacy program. Ms. Glover-Gardin has previously held in-house Counsel positions at Wells Fargo Bank NA (litigation).
Ms. Glover-Gardin is active in the community and has served in a leadership capacity on boards, including The Girl Scouts of Northern California, Hayward Unified School District, Hayward Area Recreation District Foundation, and was two term Commissioner for the City of Hayward. Ms. Glover-Gardin earned a J.D. from Santa Clara University Law School, with BA and MBA from San Francisco State University. Ms. Glover-Gardin is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and faculty member at Practicing Law Institute (PLI).
