Sarah Elizabeth Barrows is the Senior Director of NextRoll’s Legal Privacy, Product & Policy group. She works closely with the engineering, data science, and product teams to develop privacy-by-design products and services. Sarah heads up the privacy compliance efforts at NextRoll to address all the different markets where NextRoll’s customers are based and locations where end-users are served advertising and impacted by other marketing activities (U.S.; EU; Canada; Australia; Brazil; and numerous APAC countries (China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand)).
NextRoll’s brand safety as a company in the digital ad tech space is another area where Sarah works to ensure NextRoll is adhering to local laws and mindful of limitations on advertising for restricted verticals. Sarah’s work at NextRoll includes developing guidelines to assist NextRoll in complying with advertising law and policies in numerous jurisdictions and across an array of advertising verticals. In addition, Sarah coordinates NextRoll’s brand and safety objectives with the different parties with whom NextRoll works (e.g., publishers; SSPs and DMPs). Prior to working at NextRoll, Sarah spent 14-years as outside counsel at Greenberg Traurig LLP and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP working on patent, copyright, trademark and TCPA litigation matters, advising clients on privacy law compliance and data breach preparation and management, as well as providing counseling regarding best FTC and e-commerce practices.
