Sheila Jambekar recently joined Plaid, a global technology company helping to power the next generation of financial services, as Chief Privacy Officer. At Plaid, Sheila will help define privacy standards that protect consumer data rights as hundreds of millions of people continue to rely on digital tools and services to live their financial lives. Previously Sheila was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Data Protection Officer at Twilio Inc., a global communications platform as a service company. Sheila is passionate about data ethics and the privacy and ethical implications of new and developing technology, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. She holds a JD from Cornell Law School, a master’s degree from Yale University, and bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. In addition, she is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, both for the US and EU.
She started her legal career at the global law firm, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, and spent time at Franklin Templeton Investments as litigation counsel as well as litigation and then lead product counsel at Zynga Inc.
