Majken Schultz

Majken Schultz is a Professor of Organization and Management at Copenhagen Business School, since 1996 and International Research Fellow at the Centre for Corporate Reputation at Oxford University, Saïd Business School since 2010. She specializes in research in two related areas. One concerns organizational identity, identity change and its relations to organizational culture and corporate branding. The other concerns temporality with a focus on how organizational actors actively construct their own time, such as why and how they make use of their past for the future.

She teaches at a number of graduate, PhD and executive programs at CBS, including the new board leadership education. She is an active member of the Academy of Management, European Group of Organization Studies and the Royal Academy of Science and Letters. She has been a key-note speaker at numerous conferences.

She has published more than 60 articles and a dozen books. Her work has – apart from being published in English and Danish – been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Arabic, Korean and Persian. By the beginning of 2017 she had almost 15.000 citations at Google Scholar.

In 2016 she started a 3-year research project on Changing in Time with professor Tor Hernes studying temporal configurations and trajectories in Carlsberg Group and Arla The project is funded by Tuborg foundation. Previously she has directed research projects on identity, brand and transformation in Carlsberg Group (2009-2013); LEGO Group (2000-2005) and Wolff Olins and Bang & Olufsen (1996-2000)(see the extended CV for more detail).

Majken serves as a non-executive member of several company boards and has been a consultant for multiple private as well as public organizations.

In her spare time she likes to run and hike and has recently written a book on their experiences and reflections of hiking from Mont Blanc to the Mediterranean with Tor Hernes.
