Susan S. Muck

Susan Muck is a partner in WilmerHale’s San Francisco office and a member of the Securities Enforcement and Litigation Group.  In addition to defending shareholder class actions and derivative suits, Susan defends SEC enforcement proceedings and regularly advises boards and management on disclosure and accounting issues, cybersecurity, FCPA and other high-profile governance matters. She has conducted internal investigations into alleged bribery and corruption, accounting fraud, privacy and cybersecurity, and insider trading for multinational corporations and boards, and she has represented directors, companies and individuals in a wide variety of SEC, DOJ and whistleblower investigations and other corporate crises.

Among the dozens of shareholder actions Susan has defended, she recently won dismissals for Uber’s Board of Directors in Delaware Chancery Court, GoPro’s Board of Directors in Delaware Chancery Court, and federal securities class actions for Fitbit, GoPro, Poly, and Sunrun.  Susan is currently defending federal and state securities class actions in California and New York for AnaptysBio, Plantronics, Renewable Energy Group, Velodyne Lidar, and Zuora; she also serves as counsel to numerous boards in connection with investigations in response to shareholder derivative demands.  Susan is a founding member of Women in Securities (WISe), a network for women securities litigators.
