Angela Hanson

Angela Hanson is the innovation lead at Observatory of Public Sector Innovation at the OECD. Her focus is on innovation strategies, methods, tools, and capacity-building. Previously, she worked on public sector innovation and ecosystem science in the United States. As a former natural ecosystem scientist, she has an appreciation for the complexity of systems and a humility for working within them.

She has worked in government for the entirety of her career—local, state, federal, indigenous tribal, regional, international—and believes in the public sector’s role in ensuring rights, self-determination, quality of life and expression. Her personal mission is to catalyze and support those within and around the public sector to find new and better ways of governance and better ways of prototyping and testing solutions for better policymaking.

Angela holds a BS in Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
