Bukongo S. Ph. Sabwanda

Biography

Bukongo is a young Congolese organizer with Friends Of the Congo where he is currently one of the coordinators of the internship program. He joined FOTC in 2024. He was born in Bukavu, in Eastern DRC and spent most of his life there before going to study in Germany as a UWC (United World College) scholar. He is currently a student at the University of Chicago, studying Chemistry and Biology. He has been involved in organizing Congo Week and events around Pan-Africanism on his campus. He is also an organizer in the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (A-APRP), as well as a coordinator of the Operation teams for the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) Midwest region. He writes articles and poems on the website (mayionarevolutionaryjourney.com) about the Congo, Africa, politics and history. He is fluent in French, English and Swahili.
