Mary B. Cranston, JD ’75, is a Retired Senior Partner and Chair Emeritus of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm. She was the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Pillsbury from January 1999 until April 2006 and continued to serve as Chair of the firm until December 2006. Cranston serves as a director of Visa Inc., of the Chemours Company, CSAA Insurance, and McAfee. She served as a Trustee of Stanford University from 2000 to 2010 and as Chair of the Stanford Children’s Hospital and Children’s Health Network board until December 2016. Cranston holds an AB and JD from Stanford. She has substantial expertise in complex antitrust, class action, and securities law and the National Law Journal has recognized her as one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America. The National Association of Corporate Directors has also recognized her as one of America’s 50 most influential and effective directors.
