David Larcker David F. Larcker

Professor of Accounting, Emeritus and Director of the Corporate Governance Research Initiative, Stanford Graduate School of Business; Senior Faculty, Rock Center for Corporate Governance

Professor Larcker has conducted extensive research on many aspects of corporate governance, with a special emphasis on executive compensation. This research has been published in top peer-reviewed journals in accounting, corporate finance, and law. He has served on the boards of various private companies and is presently on the board of trustees for Allspring Global Investments.

He is the co-author of the top-selling book entitled “Corporate Governance Matters: A Closer Look at Organizational Choices and Their Consequences” (Third Edition). Professor Larcker is widely quoted in the media on corporate governance topics and has extensive experience as a consultant to companies and boards.

Professor Larcker was previously the Ernst & Young Professor of accounting at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Professor of accounting and information systems at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He received his PhD in Business from the University of Kansas and his BS and MS in Engineering from the University of Missouri- Rolla, and has honorary doctorate from the Copenhagen Business School. He is a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute and the Accounting Hall of Fame.

He presently lives with his wife on an organic livestock and vegetable farm in western Colorado. Professor Larcker recently joined the board of the Stucker Mesa Domestic Water Company.
