The Board’s Role in Navigating Climate Risk and Sustainability

Climate change, which will have far reaching impacts on the supply chain and where people live and work, has made its way to the top of business agendas. The Biden Administration has rejoined the
Paris Agreement released a climate finance plan, and set a target for the U.S. to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The Securities and Exchange Commission’s recently released proposed rules would significantly expand required disclosures about climate related risks. Policymakers, investors, regulators, and others want greater transparency about how boards and companies are addressing climate risks and their plans for a sustainable future. This session will provide insights on practical ways to integrate climate change into various elements of the business, as well as on how boards should be thinking about their oversight role as it relates to climate risks and opportunities.
